» Reverse/Rebirth - Riku's Story
Reverse Rebirth is a twist on the game of Chain of Memories. It is available right after you finish Sora's story. Now instead of playing as Sora you are actually able to play as Riku, his best friend.
The timeline starts immediately after the events of Kingdom Hearts take place. And while you are in this mode you still are in Castle Oblivion and you still climb 13 floors but this time its from the basement up! Another great change is that the battle system is also altered slightly to match Riku's style. You no longer have the ability to customize the deck, instead for every floor and world you get a pre-set deck to use. A really cool feature about Riku's decks is that they reload once you run out. Rikue is faster and can jump higher than sorea but has a much more limited use of map cards.
A fan favorite ability of Riku's is that he can actually enter dark mode after accumulating enough dark points. Whilst in dark mode Riku puts on his hearless costume from Kingdom Hearts 1, which makes him faster, stronger, able to jump higher, gives him the ability to use sleights, and has stronger and more stunning combination moves. Don't get hit too much while in this form though or you will revet back to normal form and you have to get the dark points all over again. Points that are used after levelling up can be allocated as hit points, attack points, or dark points.
As far as story is concerned there is none while in a world, you just fight the boss to that perspective world after finding it, however once you get bakc to castle oblivion story mode takes back over. The only worlds this is an acception to are Hollow Bastion and Twilight town. In the mean time you get too see some scenes from Sora's story that are extended and some entirley new ones as well. In Reverse Rebirth we also meet some new villians that we didn't see in Sora's Story.
